We have always wanted to stop because of the extensive selection of whiskey and bourbon - my fiancé is a huge fan! We sat at the bar, ordered a Whiskey Sour and Old Fashioned and both were on point. So on point we bought the same bottle of Bourbon they use to make it! We had the Deviled Eggs as an appetizer - they were good (slightly over seasoned for me) but my fiancé disagreed. We both got a burger, they were delish! The BBQ chips were soooo good! Overall we had a great experience - staff was very nice and food and drinks were great! Well done!

A visit for late night eats. The space has a steakhouse feel. The decor is dark lighting with heavy wood. There is an outdoor space as well. The service we received left a lot to be desired. Our visit was after 10pm. The dining room was fairly sparse with tables with guests. It took quite sometime to get someone over to the table. The service kept up at that pace throughout the meal. Thankfully, the food was delicious. We highly recommend the peppered bacon. A generous portion of sticky smoky peppery bacon. What's not to love? The cheese curds were also a hit. But, seriously who doesn't LOVE fried cheese? For entrees, we both went with the sliders. These burgers were juicy, with the perfect brioche bun. I added a side of hand cut fries. Well give them a try next time we're in town. Maybe the lackluster service was a one off....

This restaurant/bar was located in our hotel parking lot so we stopped in for a drink. It was Saturday around 4pm. Not busy at all, we sat at the bar. We were greeted quickly and given menus. We ordered a peach whiskey drink which ended up not a cocktail but a few shots of whiskey. Served on crusher ice, not an ice block. The craft beer selection was not great, heavy on sours. The menu definitely looked good and easy to find something for anyone, with a focus on grass fed beef. The atmosphere was cozy but the vibe felt off. I think overall there are so many other restaurants and bars, this one just wasn't a standout for me.

First visit, plenty of burger choices, bourbon and beer. Had a great hamburger with fries. Fries were perfect and delicious, Diet Coke since not really an alcohol drinker. Two turkey burgers with coleslaw (which was creamy and delicious), and bbq chips. Our waitstaff was terrific very knowledgeable and visited just enough. Had the sundae pretty good and tasty for 5.50, pretty good deal I think. The burger which was a classic was 15 with a side, again really good food and prices. Plenty of tv's for sports, not overly noisy was pretty full with customers.

I've been past a thousand times but was really craving a burger, so I finally stopped in. The Spears burger was delicious as were the fries. Food was hot and out quickly. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Even during a Bears game it wasn't too busy. I want to return to try other burgers!

Excellent wagyu burger so moist and succulent. I tried the shrimp tacos. They weren't very good at all way too sweet were really little too much pineapple too much sugar not enough heat. I added some garlic to it and salt. Just ate the inside. Corn tortilla was very average.the service was not great. Good came out fast fries were tepid . The burgers are always excellent

Spears is a great addition to Wheeling. They have a good bar, a nice sized dining area, and a party room for larger groups. We try to go here quite often as the food never disappoints. I usually get a burger hear as they have several and they always are juicy and delicious - almost near perfection in a burger in my opinion. However, they do have many other option on their menu that are wonderful. Oh, and did I mention they have a bacon appetizer? It's a cool place to watch a game at the bar, or host an event in their oak barrel party room. They also have a nice little outdoor area with fire pits (towers). I've been here so many times that I can easily tell you all the things I've had and they're all worth the trip: Appetizers Fried Pickles Cheese Curds Alabama Gator Smoked Chicken Wings Traditional Wings Fresh Baked Pretzel Bacon at the Bar - OMG - sooo good! Burgers and Sandwiches The Classic Burger Wagyu Burger Angry Burger Bacon Coffee Burger Buffalo Chicken Sandwich Spears Burger Mini Burgers Filet Sliders Grilled Shrimp Tacos The Ghostburger Turkey Burger Jurassic Pork Elk Burger Apple Bottom Burger Entrees (I normally get a burger or sandwich) Marinated Skirt Steak Smash's Mac Braised Short Rib Sides Homemade BBQ Chips Handcut French Fries Mashed Potato Rice Pilaf Chipotle Corn (freakin awesome!) Mac & Cheese Dessert Cotton Candy Bourbon Bread Pudding (really, really good) Apple Fritters Homemade Chocolate Chip Skillet Beignet Crossiant Donuts Chocolate Budino I can honestly say that I've never had a salad there. Everything is so so good. I can say enough about this place. Make a reservation to make sure you have a table.

Had a better experience here than last time, with service and serving speed being much quicker, despite a busy night that was completely full. As a result, I was able to enjoy the food piping hot out of the kitchen (or ice cream being very cold when served as a dessert). As a result, I can recommend Spears as a good choice when you're looking for small twists on familiar favorites at very reasonable prices for the quality that you're getting. Even when completely full, the restaurant didn't feel overly cramped or loud and the staff was efficient at serving everyone. On this visit, the food really shined. Everything was good from beginning to end, both in flavor and texture. Here's some of my thoughts on different items I tried. The smoked wings were quite tender where the smokiness was evident even with buffalo sauce coating the batter. Both burgers I tried, the spears burger and bison burger were cooked to perfection, exactly at the doneness specified and fairly juicy as a result. The buns were also super fluffy -- which was also evident in the jurassic pork with an equally impressive boat loaf. The sides were cooked very well, with perfectly tender and flavorful brussel sprouts, crispy sweet potato fries, very garlicky and crisp vampire fries, and generously seasoned bbq chips. The dessert was equally impressive with the apple fritters having just the right amount of sweetness and spice, matched with some delicious ice cream. Even better was probably the cookie skillet with a nice crisp and thick cookie, surrounded by lots of delicious whipped cream and tied together with the chocolate syrup. The presentation on both items were very fun to look at and fun to eat. Overall, good food in a large spot with reasonable prices makes this a good place to take friends, family, and coworkers.

My husband and I met a friend at Spears Bourbon Burgers Beer on a Tuesday night. This place was packed. They were able to squeeze us in but we almost had to wait half an hour to forty five minutes for a table. The food was amazing. The flavors and attention to detail are tremendous. We had the smoked buffalo wings for an appetizer. We could really taste the smoky flavor through the buffalo sauce. For an entree I had the JURASSIC PORK sandwich (House smoked pulled pork, BBQ drizzle, pepper jack cheese, creamy coleslaw and crispy onions. Served in a boat loaf.) The pulled pork didn't taste very special but the BBQ sauce, Cole slaw, and crispy onions made this sandwich special. The bun was very light and a surprise hit with the meal. I got the BBQ chips as my side. We shared the HOMEMADE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE SKILLET (Served à la mode with whipped cream & chocolate syrup) and APPLE FRITTERS (Sliced green apples tossed in a fireball whiskey batter. Cooked golden and rolled in cinnamon sugar. Topped with Bourbon ice cream and caramel drizzle) for dessert. The cookie was light and airy, almost like a cake Our server was very nice and checked on us often. I recommend Spears Bourbon Burgers Beer. The reason that this is not a five star review is that I was told that the mac and cheese was not available. Our table was close to the kitchen. Later in the evening, I saw mac and cheese being served to another customer. I'm not sure what happened but I was disappointed.
